Helen Maye
Consultant Neurosurgeon

Manchester Centre for Clinical Neurosciences, Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust
I was appointed as a consultant in 2022 after completing my neurosurgical training in the North West and a Neuro-oncology fellowship at Salford Royal. After my appointment I visited Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York to learn about innovation in Neurosurgery.
I received my medical degree from St George’s, University of London but subsequently returned to Manchester for foundation training and later neurosurgical training.
I have a strong passion for teaching, education and mentorship and carried out a PGCert in Medical Education during my training.
My main neuro-oncology interests include the surgical treatment of benign and malignant brain tumours, awake craniotomies, intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring and fluorescence guided resection of brain tumours.
